I am a mother of three children, as you might have known by now - as the footnote tells it all. At the time I started this site I had two girls and a boy, namely Chalama Vern Peters, Martina Verna Peters, and Germaine Rey Peters. Unfortunately, I lost Chalama Vern Peters"Gem" to a hit and run accident October 4th, 2005; therefore I feel compell to finish this site in memory of her.
I am a blessed child of Mrs. Agnes Francis- Peters and Mr. Albert Peters, who was born on November 5th, 1967 in a small town of Wismar, Guyana. My siblings are Felix, Francis, Clement, and Eli, all who are older than me. At a tender age of a 1yr and 3months as most parents does, I was taken back to St.Lucia to my dearest aunt so that my mom could continue her journey in life and that was to take care of us, her children. I continued my own journey in life and at this moment it has become to a standstill in Tampa, Florida.
I have my own family now which includes my mom, husband, nephew, and children.
Life was rocky in the early stages of my life having to raise three children as a single parent. Trust me life is not easy trying to do it on your own. Thanks God for being up there and giving me the strength to go on. I can remember that I got married on April 25, 2005 and I knew it was for the best and we were all happy that things had turn out that way.
My eldest daughter, Chalama Vern Peters, who graduated on May 25, 2005 had a part time job. She turned out to be the best child any mother could ever want. Chalama's nickname was Gem at birth. Gem wanted in her own way to see me happy so she kept her part time job to supply her younger sibling with the materialistic things she had never had in her life.
All her dreams came to an end the morning of October 4th, 2005. As usual, Gem woke up at 5am to get herself ready for work, apparently she had to take work at Mac Donalds at 7am. Few blocks from her house at 5:40am she would be involved in a deadly hit and run accident. Trust me everything went down hill. Gem was succumbed by her injuries and was pronounced brain dead at 9:40pm but she was taken off life support at 1:00am October 5th, 2005. Gem organs were donated and I am 100% sure she would be happy to know that she saved the lives of aleast 3 people who were clinging on life, desperately waiting for this "gift of life"
